I loved drawing as a kid, but as I grew up I stopped. I was under the impression that talent was something you were born with and it didn't seem possible for me to ever be able to paint "properly".

In 2015, while I was living in Panama, I got into adult coloring books and mandalas, and started playing around with color. It was very low stakes because I was simply coloring illustrations. What gave me the push to start learning and making my own art was getting this book for my boyfriend. I don't think he ever checked it but I liked it, specially because the lessons took less than 30 minutes.

After that I moved on to several books that teach to draw with graphite, and finally I made the jump to watercolors using Jenna Raineys book. I soon learned enough skills and confidence to attempt to paint my own stuff.

 

I was very proud of the gradient in this very colorless sketch.

 

By 2020 I was better at using colors and coming up with my own compositions. I started to branch out with the type of subjects I painted.

 

I want to paint an updated version of this one!

 

I soon moved on to painting portraits, travel sketchbooks, fantasy illustrations, etc.

As I got better at it, friends and family started encouraging me to sell my artwork, but it was not until 2022 that I felt confident enough to start doing it.

I did some research and settled on focusing on using my artwork to create postcards and posters. Recently I've added originals (I tend to become very attached to my paintings) and journals to the store.

In 2023, I took on the challenge of trying to teach what I know to other people who also want to embark in their own artistic journey, and that's how my Youtube Channel came to exist along with my blog.

Currently, I'm working on a 2025 calendar with my artworks and the 2024 Christmas collection.
